Wayne County Chamber serves the economic interests of the
region. We are the largest volunteer-membership driven
organization of businesses in Wayne County.

The Chamber’s vigorous program of work is carried out by volunteer committees from Chamber membership.

The Chamber provides ready-to-use techniques to make your business stronger. These interactive sessions provide valuable information that can be used by you and your business immediately. Engage in sessions about Customer Service, Budgeting, Hiring and Retention Practices, Marketing Business Manners, Worker’s Compensation, and more. Shop Local Committee

Elevate our local artisans and manufacturers and stimulate sales tax revenues by encouraging the community to Shop Local, and to embrace the national Small Business Saturday following Thanksgiving.

Support Community Events

Volunteer to provide support and promotion for community events, concerts and programs hosted by the Wayne County Board of Tourism and Jesup Downtown Development Authority.

Education

Wayne County High School Student Chamber

Youth are our emerging leaders. We encourage high school students to learn about the roles and function of the Chamber and Board development process while learning about their local community and developing leadership skills.

Teacher Appreciation

Show appreciation for teachers twice yearly by providing Georgia Grown and locally made gifts for local educators. This stimulates our local economies as investors in education.

Business Back Education Newsletter

Publish a quarterly education newsletter to Chamber membership including school news and student spotlights.

PAGE STAR Student and Teacher Recognition

Recognize local academic achievement through the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) and Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program with STAR Student and STAR Teacher of the Year.

Wayne County Public & Private School Programs

Support programs within the Wayne County School System to include: Junior Achievement & Entrepreneurship, Partners in Education, Responsive Education for All Children initiative (REACH) and all athletic programs.

Government Affairs

Legislative Advocacy

Advocate for legislative action that represents the interests of the business community and Wayne County.

Election Forums/Debates

Plan and coordinate a forum for candidates to report and debate local, state and national issues.

Day for Wayne
1st Thursday November

Support Day for Wayne for invited guests to learn more about Wayne County, hosted by the Board of Tourism.

Eggs & Issues

Plan and coordinate the annual event for Wayne County’s legislative delegation to report on issues prior to the General Assembly. This is coordinated with planning a delegation for the Georgia Chamber Eggs and Issues.

Post Legislative Luncheon

Coordinate a post-legislative luncheon after the General Assembly for Wayne County’s state legislative delegation to report on progress/issues during the General Assembly.

GA Chamber of Commerce/GACCE Events

Coordinate Wayne County’s participation in the Georgia Chambers and Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executive (GACCE) legislative events.

Membership Services

Recruitment & Retention

Coordinate and implement programs that will ensure member recruitment.

Quarterly Membership Luncheon

Organize quarterly membership luncheons themed: State of Education, State of Health, and State of the County.

Networking/Business After Hours & Coffee Card Exchange

Coordinate and promote Business After Hours and Coffee Card Exchange networking events for members, alternating on 3rd Thursdays monthly.

Ambassadors

Recruit and inspire 10+ ambassadors to conduct personal visits to Chamber members to encourage participation and to reach out to prospective members. Ambassadors are the key liaison to member businesses by motivating, educating, and communicating with members.

Business of the Quarter

This program recognizes outstanding achievement to business and non-profit organizations in our community. This award is presented to a Chamber member business that does extremely well in the areas of community involvement, economic growth, customer service and/or professional relationships. Companies can be nominated by any Chamber member, business and/or companies may nominate themselves. This award is available only to Chamber members.
